I would like to congratulate the all past and future Presidents and his Office Bearers and Members Executive Committee for the efforts made in advancing the cause of rehabilitation & development of the North Karachi Industrial Area.

I was one of the first businessmen to establish my business in North Karachi Industrial Area and with the passage of time the North Karachi Industrial Area began to develop and the necessity of a Trade Association was felt to bring the problems of the Industrial Area with the concerned Government Department.

With the able assistance of my colleagues, I was able to form an Association in the year 1991 and I feel proud that the seed that I planted decades ago has grown to be one of the most prominent Associations in the trees of Town Association giving shelter to its members. Every year has been full of events and activities and has been noted with satisfaction that the Member Executive Committees and Chairmen of Sub- Committees have been doing excellent work.

As this new age is marked by complex global interdependence and technological innovations, Pakistan would have to be cognizant of the challenges and opportunities of the international Trade. The revival of Pakistan economy hinges on the performance of its industrial sector. Industry in Pakistan had a great potential of expansion because availability of raw materials, skilled labor and the availability of indigenous investment of the country. We should purse well connected policies such as facilitation of Small & Medium Size Enterprises, establishment of special economic zones to boost our exports and Export Processing Zones enhancing technical education, to use unskilled labors etc., which will certainly help in the expansion and modernization of industries in Pakistan.

NKATI is working diligently towards the development of the North Karachi Industrial Area has played a commendable role in developing interest among the business community of Pakistan to explore and initiate new strategies for utilizing the tremendous trade opportunities between the two countries.

I am confident that the incumbent Office Bearers and Executive Committee will follow the foot print of their predecessors and make North Karachi Industrial Area a modern industrial zone of Karachi.
